2010 VCOI Spring Field Trial
Des Plaines Fishingt & Wildlife Area, Wilmington, IL
March 6-7, 2010

I would like to take this opportunity to thank the many involved with the spring trial at Des Plaines. My Secretary Rodney Albin, my committee members Pam Spurgeon, Mary and George Haines, Greg Wegler, Tom Greckowitz, and Brad Lepoudre as Captain of the guns. Greg managed the bird planters while Tom managed the line marshals. Having the comitee help in managing the trial is what makes our trials run so smoothly. I can’t even begin to remember all the people who helped plant birds, or who helped line marshal. Every time I asked who was doing this or that it was already handled. I would like to thank the many who cleaned up their areas well, and a big thanks to Jon peck and Michele Princer for spending over an hour cleaning up the lot for those that did not. Thanks to Pam, Mary and Amanda for cleaning the clubhouse. Also thanks to the members and non members who helped in many ways, even if it was just in support of the trial by entering. Clean up is one area we as a club need to work on. If each person would pend 15 minutes before they pull out at the end of a weekend, clean up common areas and under their trailers after they move, it would make the end of trial chores easier.

We had several new and non members come to check out a trial, or help with no dogs to run. They were made to feel welcome, and hopefully will become active in the VCOI. The trial was full and ran smoothly other than a few conflicts. The weather was perfect on Saturday with sunny skies and mild temperatures. Sunday the weather changed and we got a little wet.
