Des Plaines Fishing & Wildlife Area, Wilmington, IL

The weather Gods did not play nice on test day! Our temperatures were in the 90’s and the cover on the East Grounds was pretty thick. The IDNR had mowed those grounds during the week, but could have used more mowings.

Our seasoned Judges were Mike Dalby and Jim Ritze. Thank you for sitting in the saddle all day!

My committee was a seasoned group! Each member knew exactly what to do, how to do it, and handled everything with finesse. A Special Thank You to these individuals: Valerie Blaine, Kim and Doug Frank, Dennis and Patty Nowak. Captain of the Guns: Chris Nunkovich. Gunners: Jeff Engelsman, Dennis Nowak, Jerry Gabriel and Chris Nunkovich. Doug and Kim brought their ATV as did Chris too! These vehicles are a God send in getting birds and water out on the course. Doug and Kim’s girls Cameron and Tori helped in the kitchen and sold their homemade chocolate chip cookies (Yum) Thank you for all helping and making this another successful VCOI Hunt Test.
