June
2008 Hunt Test - Ottawa Field Trial Grounds, Eagle, WI
The June Hunt Test was a great
success despite the VERY inclement weather. It started raining
after the completion of the training day on Saturday. We even
witnessed a lightning strike in the field. It POURED on Sunday!
But we still managed to run all dogs entered! Congratulations
to all of the dogs and handlers that participated – there
were very tough conditions that day.
We had the following numbers of
entries:
Junior Hunter – 27 dogs ran and 13 received passing scores.
Senior Hunter – 9 dogs ran and 2 received passing scores.
Master Hunter – 10 dogs ran and 1 received passing scores.
Many
thanks to all that helped out! It was a soggy mess! Kent Harter
and Ed Brock judged the Junior course and spent a lot of time
on their horses in the rain as did Tony Ordonez and Greg Hedien
who judges Senior and Master. They were all terrific! Special
thanks to Tom Grekowicz and Ray-Ray (Dennis and Patti Nowak’s
nephew) for sitting in the downpour planting birds. Victor Barger
and Jerry Gabriel made the trip to Ottawa just to gun –
Have your guns dried out yet?!?! Thank you!
George and Mary Haines put on
the spectacular spread of food concessions for both the Training
Day and the Hunt Test with a supporting cast who helped by preparing
and bringing food donations – including Pam Spurgeon and
Jodi Cieslak. Many Thanks to you all and to anyone who I failed
to mention! Last, but not least, thank you to Dennis and Patti
Nowak for their continued help and support!
Thank you to all of you –
couldn’t have done it without
you!
- Respectfully submitted, Cindy
