Congratulations
to all placements. I'm glad to hear Mark Spurgeon made it home
carrying that enormous load of trophies. Skip and Laurie are just
a tad proud that Jaks finished his DC this weekend.
We
had a few new handlers win placements - Eugene Wolf with Sonny
in a retrieving Gun Dog stake and Phil Rohs in a puppy stake.
Phil also got his gun dog around clean. I believe this was Rusty's
first Gun Dog stake, and he placed in it.
Steve
Whitney ran Gus (Berry's Bad Boy) to the Most Outstanding Young
Vizsla award sponsored over the last 10 years by Mark Johnson.
It is awarded by the judges to a dog less than 5 years of age
in the Amateur Gun Dog stake that exhibits the most potential.
Thanks
also to the judges, many of whom donated their time. Stan Noble
pledged his expenses towards the Linda Keaton Raffle.
I
will be sponsoring a new award next year: Most Painful Dismount.
A bronzed pillow will be awarded to a rider whose unauthorized
dismount exhibits a complete lack of grace, dignity and a total
element of surprise. A plaque bearing the phrase uttered during
the dismount (or immediately thereafter) will be attached.
