2006 Hunt Test
Desplaines
Fishing & Wildlife Area, Wilmington, IL
The Labor Day Hunt Test was a
huge success! This one day Hunt Test brought the club a profit
of $816.50 minus some club expenses. The Brian Hesgard shot gun
raffle brought in $195.00 for the Hesgard family.
The Hunt Test committee of Val
Blaine, Jenny and Jeremy Thill, Kim and Doug Frank and Tammy Sparks
and myself had entries of 40 dogs. Gunners were: Dennis Nowak,
Jeremy Thill and Ryan Pheifer.
Changing the way we typically
run tests by not limiting to day light hours, we were able to
run all the dogs that entered turning away no one. Mike Dalby
and Jeff Parise filled in as our extra judges. Our main judges
in the saddle were Chuck Dosenbach and Tom McFall they gave the
contestants plenty of time and knowledge while judging. We had
many positive comments regarding how well we ran this test, they
also enjoyed running their dogs under our judges and also noticed
the amount of birds at our test. Many said they will be back next
year!
A big thank you to our committee,
some came from far away to help with this test. Jenny and Jeremy
Thill came down from Kewaskum, WI and Ryan Pheifer came all the
way down from Green Bay, WI. a special thanks to Debbie Taylor
who has helped us at this test for at least 3 years now and I
hope I haven't missed anyone else. It is the workers who give
up their weekend to make this test a success and I thank all of
you for your dedication . Looking forward to next year!
