June 7, 2003 Hunt Test
Ottawa Field Trial Grounds, Eagle, WI

The VCOI Summer Hunt Test will be on June 7, 2003 at the Ottawa Field Trial Grounds three miles north of Eagle Wisconsin on State Highway 67 in the heart of the scenic Southern Unit of the Kettle Moraine State Forest. Want to learn how to train your Vizsla for field work? This is the place to start. We can explain the ins and outs of AKC Hunting Tests for Pointing Breeds, and if you want, we can even teach you how to handle and plant birds.

If you have never attended an AKC Hunt Test before, Ottawa is a great place to come watch the Vizslas doing what they were bred to do, hunt. The layout of the grounds is such that you can watch almost all of the Senior Hunters and Master Hunters have bird-work without leaving the parking lot. The Junior Hunter course is nestled in a small valley ("kettle") that allows you to stand on the surrounding ridge ("moraine") and watch all of the Junior dogs compete without having to walk the course.

The Ottawa Field Trial Grounds are also a convenient 15 minutes south of Delafield Wisconsin, home of the Lang Graphics Outlet Stores, several antique shops, specialty boutiques, upscale cafes, and St. John's Northwestern Military Academy. Bring the whole family to the Summer Hunt Test and make it a weekend excursion!
