It was a good turn out, and this year's show was better then last
year due to the fact that we had people from Iowa and Wisconsin
showing their dogs. We're very delighted that they came to help
support our SPECIALTY. The dog taking points was "The Baron
of Batavia" and he has just begun his show career. The bitch
who one and took Best of Winners and Bost of Opposite Sex finished
that day and became a champion - - - - none other than the one
we've just been reading about, Rotkopf's Sencational Robin, owned
and handled by Joyce Smith. Best of Breed was taken by Ch. Polar
Kaps Sporting Goods. This was his second year in a row to win
Best of Breed at the Illinois Specialty.
There
were many fine looking dogs that did not win, but placed, and
we would not have had a successful show if it had not been for
them coming out and competing. There is always the next show and
next year for the Illinois Specialty. They could be the Best of
Winners, Best of Opposite, and/or Best of breed. There are so
many nice Vizslas out there who are not being shown, I hope by
next year we will have a bigger and better turn out than this
year. The show site is an easy one to get to. It's right off the
Illinois tollway. The Fox River Valley Kennel Club always puts
on a great show. So, if you are thinking about showing your pride
and joy, do come out for the Specialty show next year. Hope to
see you there.
