1977 VCOI Spring Field Trial
March, 1977

Our trial came off without a hitch. Would you believe without a dog wagon? Our plans for Saturday included using the states nifty dog wagon to be pulled by a tractor to follow braces. This was so we could utilize the entire Green River area for our continouse courses. As it was, it rained and we couldn't use the dog wagon as we met the braces at pickup time by car-truck-van-or station wagon at points along the roads of the area. Many thanks to all who helped and supplied the vehicles to complete this task. Also, thanks to the competitors who got the grand tour, one of which got lost scouting for a dog in the brush.

Sunday we ran 2 courses simultaneously. Thanks to John Ewers, Keith Crago and Jimmy Busch for planting the Amateur Bird field. Thanks Mike Florian for planting the Open Gun back course and Joe Antitorer for making sure he has birds to plant. Thanks to Joe for the use of his camper.

I am sorry for not having Judges comments on the trial, but we ran from sunrise to sunset both days which left litte time to receive comments. Thanks again to everyone whoe helped put on the trial, and especially High Morrow who showed up at 6:00am Sat. morning to drive the tractor that we couldn't use.
